Devlin Designs Attacked; R&D Head Arrested
"This evening, Devlin Designs, a Reploid production and design facility in
eastern England, was attacked by the Maverick forces of Europe. The break-in
was detected by Devlin Designs and responded to by members of Repliforce and
the Maverick Hunters."
The film shows a moderately good picture (for a security camera) of Doppler
entering a door, followed by Byte appearing right in the focus of the camera
moments before the picture cuts out in static.
"The target of the attack was apparently files hidden in the basement of
Devlin Design, which was damaged in the attack. During the post-battle
evaluation, illegal Reploid testing was discovered in the hidden basement; on
several criminal and civil charges, the head of Research and Development, Dr
Herbert Elandor, has been taken in. He is currently in treatment due to
injuries sustained in the attack, apparently from a bloody screwdriver found
nearby. Seventeen Reploids were freed from inhumane testing, and several more
were believed to have escaped independently in the confusion. Most are
expected to be located shortly."

The latest news from GNN....
Emerging victorious from a six-month long court battle concerning the
laundering of money, Glyde Loath and his GL Enterprises have been declared
innocent of all charges against them. With the innocent verdict comes the
unfreezing of the considerable assets under the GL Enterprises logo --
including 'Glyde's Geneforge Flower Store' -- a place that specializes in the
production and development of genetically altered foliage, as well as numerous
investment companies that are scattered across Japan and Korea. Furthermore,
in an unprecedented move, Mr. Loath has been awarded a considerable sum of
money by the prosecution in order to prevent a lawsuit. Both parties parted
amicably, with the prosecution saying: "Despite the innocent verdict, we feel
the situation has been resolved in a manner that is satisfactory to all
parties."
Mr. Loath however, was unavailable for comment.
In other news concerning GL Enterprises, Glyde Loath has announced
plans for the building of a casino in Tokyo. Recently approved by the
government, construction should start within the next month. More details to

Immediatly following the GNN news update, via radio or holovision:
Glyde Loath appears, resplendant in an ornate ebony black cape and
matching renissance hat. Clutched at his chest is a boquet of roses that bear
startling colors. The very middle one is a traditional red, but others are
seen in shades ranging from beautiful blues to hot pink and verdant green.
Behind him is a wall that is filled with exotic foliage. Some is recognizable
as color-altered versions of traditional flowers, whilst some are completely
unrecognizable -- presumably genetically altered. He gestures, and the screen
suddenly goes black -- the lights of the room having been turned out. Behind
him though, many of the flowers are still easily seen -- glowing their colors
with pale, beautiful luminescence in the relative dark.
The GL Enterprises logo appears on the center of the screen then, as
plesant classical music is heard. And then, Glyde's voice is heard:

foliage needs. Newly re-opened, located in the Nogaki Commercial District,
Neo-Tokyo -- Level 16-A, block #221B.

This was placed near the end of the 'real news'.
"Today, some photos and video were taken in Berlin of a figure in a hooded
robe leading a pack of children, ranging from the apparent ages of five to
twelve, around Berlin, stopping at war memorials and other such sites
important to the Mavericks."
There's some video of the robed figure of Lament leading the children about.
This section of video seemed to be taken right outside the imperial spire. The
reploid was gesturing fervently and likely speaking of the glories of Sigma's
regime. Oddly, the children didn't seem to be frightened. At all. Some of the
older ones even appeared to be nodding in agreement.

Vile Strikes Baja! Sat Mar 06 Global News Network

A man stands on one of the streets of Baja California, with some of the
buildings in rubble and the street itself totally ripped up. "Hello, this is
Ronald Barbon, reporting from Baja California. Only a couple hours ago, this
tourist city was turned into temporary war zone by Maverick General Vile, who
appeared singled handedly to deal out destruction and death. He was stopped
first by a Repliforcer said to visit the area often, the famed Jet Stingray.
Holding off Vile for a decent amount of time, Mavericks Hunters soon reported
on the scene to assist, including the unpredictable Proto Man. Soon the police
themselves arrived on scene and Vile shortly left there after."
The camera switches to a still frame, a picture clearly taken during the
battle or right before it. It is a rather touching on, as Jet Stingray, for
one reason or another, is gently cradling a young girl in his arms. It is
unknown how she died from the way Jet is holding her, but it is clear she is
no more. While Jet's eyes are not seen, his body is hunched, perhaps in grief
or anger. Meanwhile, Vile is standing in front of him, his optic giving a
menacing glow.
"While not all were able to be spared from Vile's senseless wraith, thanks to
the work of Repliforce and the Maverick Hunters, the Maverick slaughter was
stopped. This is live from Ronald Barbon, now back to you at the studio."

Appearing on screen is your news anchor, Sum Gai! Looking to the camera, he
begins, "Tonight's top story, a kidnapping in Kyoto. During a promotion
sponsered by JTEK, a popular Techno and Trance radio station in Japan, the
Maverick general Vile teleported into the prefecture." Stock picture of Vile,
looking as evil as ever. "According to eye witness reports, he made his way
through the crowd, causing injuries to people in the crowd that sent four
people to the hospital in the ensuing confusion to escape, and confronted the
radio host in charge, Fusion." Cue a picture of Fusion, looking cute.
"Facts after this point are sketchy, though those who managed to catch sight
of Vile's escape reported him as having been carrying Fusion over his
shoulder. Law enforcement officials have classified this as a kidnapping, and
have requested that anyone with information that may lead to the recovery of
Fusion should call their toll-free line." A telephone number is displayed.
Sum Gai moves on to the next story, as he says, "In other news, water in the
area surrounding Washington DC..."

mini-plot. I've had a lot of people trying to ask me (Fusion) if they can try
to rescue me, and I honestly have no idea if they can, so please don't ask me

"The Donachi Business District in NeoTokyo is a scene of great sadness,
tonight, as rescue crews are still scrambling to find survivors in the remains
of what was once 'Light Labrotories...' as well as the fifty-story skyscraper
that stood at its side. Both of the buildings have completely collapsed...and
as you can see from this footage..." The camera does show where the Labs are
supposed to be, but there isn't much but ash there now. It's raining heavily
over the entire area, the sky grey-black with smoke and storm. "...There is
absolutely nothing left of the Labs. Survivors claim the building fell from
the inside, rocked by an explosion that originated in the lower levels, and
took out the Labs' neighbors, and the surrounding landscape. The entire
district of the city was damaged from heavy combat, and by the freak storm
that originated high above the Labs... these clouds being the last known
location, at this time, of the robotic rivals Megaman, and Bass, who were
locked in conflict when the storm broke. The death count at this time can't
even be estimated, but..." The helicopter footage zooms in on some Tokyo
firetrucks below, weathering the rain... "The weather is of no help to these

pulling people from the wreckage.
"The problems are compounded by a thick layer of ice and slush that threatens
survivors with suffocation and hypothermia. Furthermore the foundations in the
area have been weakened from the blow, which may cause further collapse and
crush the remaining victims. Reports indicate casualties in the hundreds, and
we estimate there are nearly fifty left trapped inside the debris at this
time.

from the debris for refueling."

attacks on Dr. Wily within the structure. While Wily has been heard over
global frequencies since the attack, there have been no signs of the Robot
Master Force Commander.

Commander.

[GNN Update - Crisis In Neo-Tokyo]
Admidst the ruins and rescue efforts of the Light Labs disaster, work
is continuing at evacuating the Karasawa Tower and the surrounding buildings.
This small office tower, long rumored to have ties to several illegal
operations in Neo-Tokyo, took a large measure of the blast from Bass's
apparently suicidal attack, and Neo-Tokyo architects expect the building to
collapse within the next few hours.
[Footage is show on Karasawa tower... it looks gutted, more than 1/3 of the
building's interior wrecked and ruined from the Perfect Storm.]
Emergency gravity field generators have kept the building standing so
far, but the death toll insisde the building is still unknown. Neo-Tokyo
authorities have said that if the building hasn't collapsed by tomorrow,
demolitions experts will be called in to finish the job. Additional problems
with rubble will be dealt with by the gravity field generators, which will
keep the ruined building in one place until it can be disposed of.

far -not- to spread to Tartarus, given the subject matter, but it will spread
there and further in time.
They, for there are several versions, speak of a new resistance group
somewhere in Europe. From the sound of things, it's not in the same mold as
groups like the Skinners or the Balkans rebels, but rather something intensely
secretive and hidden. A vast underground, sneaking through dark alleyways
behind the backs of Coalition agents.
Who are these people? No one is quite sure, and the name of the underground
changes with each retelling. Fenrir, Phoenixes, Fenians, Fiat, Fian, Fideli
Defensor -- there are any number of variations. They're humans, reploids,
androids -- all races and creeds -- working together outside of the Repliforce
and Interpol, all toward a common cause.
There are two common threads, however, to each version of the rumor: this
mysterious underground is actively providing help, information, and resources
to rebels in Europe and will extend its hand to any who ask, and one other
cryptic little note. They say that those who seek the group's help must go
'where angels fear to tread.'
Whatever the true facts are -- for these are rumors, and are embellished more
and more each time they pass hands -- it seems as though there's someone new
on the world stage... or rather, sneaking around behind the curtains.

due to long-range Shrike Missles that requird the Repliforce Commander to deal
with immediately, or all in the area would have suffered by it. In the time
that transpired, the Maverick Emperor, along with Byte, Lament and Armored
Armadillo, were recovered hastily by swift-moving Mavericks before they
withdrew, allowing the Repliforce to establish their claim fully in the area."

area well, this is a large Orphanage in Neo Tokyo! Guts Man speaks.
"Hello, I'm Guts Man, Pope for the Church of Bass. Today I'm here at this
orphanage for a good cause. You see many of these children here have never
lived in a real home." He walks nears some of the children, "As Pope, I find
it saddening that these kids may never live with a family. Some of these kids
may live here until they're 18 and then be thrown out like a common bum. But I
want to make a difference! I want to change things! That's why I am starting a
charity fund! You see little Yoshi and little Sakura may never find parents,
then on their 18th birthday they will be thrown out into the real world
without any money. That's why my fund will make sure that any children 18 or
over get a sizeable amount of money to help them out Also the donations we
receive will go to help rebuild this run down orphanage! To make it bigger and
better! Because let's face it folks, with today's rash of violence many
children will be orphaned and it's no different here in Neo Tokyo. But with

activities of the Irregular Overlord Demolition Man. Apparently Demolition Man
incited a high-speed chase after stealing both a Jeep and a large amount of
steel plating and ceramic products. It eventually ended when the Irregular
Overlord used Robot Master Clown Man as a ramp to take his Jeep onto a
thankfully abandoned office building's roof, whereupon he donned a spacesuit,
created a large pile of bombs beneath the vehicle, and piled his stolen
ceramics and steal around himself in the jeep's driver-side seat. In addition
to Clown Man, Robot Masters Crash Man, Bomb Man, Sword Man, and Yamato Man
were also present, as were the Omnidroid Buster Rod G and fellow Irregular
Overlord, Luz. Curiously, Buster Rod G seemed to be intent on attacking
Demolition Man and his jeep with his Ultima Shot, and between it and the large
pile of explosives, the Jeep was launched far and fast into the air. From
velocity and trajectory estimates, it is likely that the Jeep, and Demolition
Man with it, later impacted with the moon.
"Curiously, Proto Man was also on the scene, first appearing to aid Luz when
knocked unconscious, and subsequently disabling Buster Rod G before taking
both away to places unknown. What motive lay behind these actions remains

"...and that's all for sports. In recent news a startling discovery has been
made in connection with dozens of animal attacks against humans. It seems that
last night a young woman, Kate Willams, stumbled into New York Principal
Hospital suffering from what she claimed to be an animal attack." A square
close-up view of the woman's neck opens up in the upper left corner of the
screen, showing two very distinct circular puncture wounds.
"Upon closer examination the medical technician on duty declared that such
wounds could not have been made by any animal known to live in North America.
When a search was made for similar such attacks it was discovered that dozens
of duplicate incidents had occurred all over the United Nations at various
times over the last few years. The police have stated that no pattern has been
discerned in the location or frequency of the attacks but they all seem to be
spread out by atleast a week."
The reporter shuffles some papers infront of her and peers down at them for a
moment before continuing. "The victims all claimed to have been attacked by
animals but sources report that all of the victims seemed to have suffered
short term memory loss due to the trauma and could not remember what type of
animal had attacked them or if it was even an animal at all. However, it /was/
confirmed that all of these attacks occurred during the night."
Turning to another camera the reporter stares at the screen intently as if
she herself had been a victim. "Oddly enough not a single one of these
incidents have resulted in a fatality. All of the victims managed to reach
medical care by some means or another though most had lost considerable
amounts of blood by the time they were treated. Police have surmised that this
may not be the work of animals at all but have nothing solid to base these
suspicious on as of yet. Citizens have been advised to be on the alert at
night and try to travel in groups until the true culprit can be discovered. In

A historic peace accord was signed early Sunday morning between the government
of Israel and the Palestinian leadership after a marathon 36-hour negotiation
session. The accord, which observers of the region claim is unprecedented in

entirely unexpected source -- Epsilon of the Irregular Overlords.
Epsilon, accompanied by over five thousand Reploids and humans, was detected
moving through Lebanon early Friday morning. They encountered resistance by
Palestinian and Israeli security forces as they continued moving south, taking
moderate casualities.
As Epsilon's forces approached an Israeli checkpoint, Epsilon requested a
parlay with the local authorities. After several hours, Epsilon was able to
gain unprecedented access to Israeli officials, and in a closed door session
restarted the stalled peace process. The remainder of the weekened saw
meetings called across the region as Epsilon brokered an equitable peace
agreement that even radical factions of both Israeli and Palestinian forces
consider worthy of an extended cease-fire.
At the conclusion of the negotiations, Epsilon and his forces began moving
north into Turkey, where they were believed to have used teleporters to return
to their original base of operations.
The Irregular Overlords had no comment about the incident.

Distributed upon public channels is a peaceful transmission from the
Coalition of Reploid Freedom. This is a perfectly legal and friendly signal
and is normally not censored. There are no subliminal messages or anything of
the kind. This is, it would seem a completely utterly and legit thing.
It takes the form of a dark screen, with a tall figure standing
within the shadows, a flickering amber light in the background. The light
rises to unveil what can only be Sigma, dressed in a dark cloak -- his face
shadowed except for the reflective blue as his optics and the bright crimson
of the reflective paint upon the scars above and below said cereulan orbs. He
begins to speak, quietly but firmly...

strive for a cause, no matter how noble are forced to take drastic measures in
their struggle that many upon both sides of the conflict must inevitably be
hurt or lost in the course of it's action.
Throughout the history of our movement, the Coalition for Reploid
Freedom has fought against enemies and tyrants in all shapes and sizes -- from
the flesh, power armor and main battle tanks of the United Nations's human
mecenaries to our brother and sister Reploids within the Repliforce and other
such organizations. For many years, I have watched my brother and sister
reploids have fought and died beside me, without complaint and without
hesitation. I have seen those of the human race who wish to be something more
willingly give up that which they are to become something better to fight at
my side. I have watched they too, live and die in support of what the
Coalition stands for.
The casualties -- the lives lost in the furtherance of our movement;
our cause and our goal have been high, I will not and never will hide. Every
day, we suffer losses even in the triumph of our individual gains. Even now,
Coalition soldiers fight and die in the Balkan Peninsula to hold back the
invading armies of the Repliforce. They, and every soldier who has fought for
the Coalition and perished, Cyborg and Replioid are to be properly honored.
I take this time to decree that as the Emperor of the Coalition,
April Third will be set aside as a national holiday and day of remembrance
from this moment forward. The Day of Heroes as it will be called, will be a

Survaillence craft in the Arctic region have discovered something
that appears to be a massive sculpture about ten meters square, consisting of
several figures arranged in a ring and facing inward:
Scribe Robin, one foot forward, wings spread, looking a bit worried.
Blast Hornet, in flight, leaning forward and brandishing her blaster.
Inferno Phoenix, wings raised, taloned hands forward, beak wide in
some sort of avian screech. His body is wreathed in a fiery aura of some kind,
at least as well as an ice sculpture can represent.
Plasma Harrier, wings spread wide, handtalons held forward
forcefully, beak set in the same style as Inferno's.
Storm Eagle, charging forward, wings swept back, a look of hatred.
General, all his weaponry brought to bear, looking very calm.
Prismatic Spider, arms spread, gleaming. The artist took a lot of
work making his refractor probably the most reflective of the ice in the area.
Inferno Falcon, wreathed in flame, in a martial arts stance
performing a powerful punch.
Burn Dinorex, standing tall and leaning forward in a very threatening
pose, jaws opened wide.
Crescent Grizzly, drill claw forward, scowling.
At the very center of the ring: Doctor Wily, on all fours cowering.
There is no sort of title or anything, no marker of ownership. (Page

Broadcast among many civillian frequencies in a perfectly licensed
and legal manner is the following clip, most often displayed in full
holovision. It is obviously Maverick in origin, yet possesses no subliminal
messaging or hidden meanings or anything that would deem it illegal -- which
is why most channels were perfectly willing to broadcast it after a good in
look in detail at the internal contents of the message. It features a simple
dark room, backlit as though by a flame -- with a tall figure, fairly
obviously Sigma being the only detail really noticible. The look has a dark,
sombre feel to it -- something added to by the fact that Sigma is dressed in a
cloak, not unlike the one he wore in the opening of X4. He is without a scythe
or any weapon, his face mostly hidden by shadow except for the cereulan blue
of his optics and the surprisingly visible crimson of the four scar-like
strips above and below them. He speaks smoothly, quietly and unhurredly.

"Sunny Housecat here, following up on an earlier report."
"Yesterday, a CRF raiding party lead, most notably, by General Vile
and Spymaster Double, struck Shinsing, Inc. The Shinsing compound was located
in the mountains miles away from Hong Kong, making it an easy target for
Maverick forces. Though a fast-response team of Hunters engaged the CRF, the
Mavericks were able to escape with little damage done. Of course, two nearby
camera drones were dispatched to the area once the CRF shuttle was inbound!"
True to his words, a blocky Maverick dropship rumbles into the
courtyard of a hypermodern compound, sadly destroying an ill-placed rock
garden. Dozens of spidery drones peel off the craft, as several other figures
can be seen. Someone who looks suspiciously like Alexandria in an
all-obscuring cloak dashes off, while General Vile unabashedly strides down
the ramp, looks about, and blasts a large hole in the side of the building.
Soon thereafter, the fighting starts, with action star Liese Schreiner plowing
through the gates on a hoverbike and entering the building, Double joining
Vile for a moment then disappearing, and the purple armored Foucalt flying in.
Moments later, Glaive arrives on another hoverbike, also entering the
facility, while yet another Maverick - Firestorm Phoenix - flits out of the
landing craft. And... Doctor Light briefly flies past the undoubtedly hidden
drone in an airborne Lay-Z-Boy. Of course, Alpha can be seen glancingly,
before she disappears into woods after Vile.
"Minutes later, the mechaniloids returned from the building,
prompting the Mavericks to retreat to their shuttle."
The camera drones don't dispute that, either, though a large chunk of
footage seems to be missing in the middle. Nevertheless, the CRF craft lifts
off, with Alexandria blinking out from the courtyard just before the remaining
Hunters could close in. Outdistancing all parting shots, Heavy CRF Shuttle
[Madeup], flies into the horizon with spider drones in tow and heavy backup
arriving too late.
"Though the owner of Shinsing, Inc., was unavailable for comment, an
undisclosed employee confided that the entire database and all prototypes had
been stolen. Most importantly, research pertaining to military-grade computer
processors faster than anything currently used! The plans will take several
months to replicate, undoubtedly making Applesoft think twice about buying
this company out."

The lag that's affecting the whole of the internet, and 'walkable'
cyberspace is still present. Operations on the internet are now still very
slow, with frequent popups encouraging people to visit the Irregular Overlord
website and 'sign up'. This has not changed, despite the amount and skill of
people trying to fix it. As usual, you can usually fix the problem for a short
amount of time, before whatever is causing the problem starts again, and the
lag goes on.

Mysterious attacks continue. Sun Mar 28 Global News Network

"This is a GNN special report. Last night yet another human fell victim to the
mysterious animal attacks that have recently been brought to light." A
picuture of a young blonde teenager appears on the screen with bandages around
her neck being wheeled into the hospital on a stretcher. "Upon her arrival at
Namura General Hospital, Miyuki Hanami was treated for severe blood loss.
Thanks to the aid of a nameless young girl who found and brought the victim in
quickly, she was able to be treated in time to prevent death. The rescuer
disappeared before police could question her, however, and Miyuki suffers from
the same short term memory loss that her predecessors have - leaving police
with little to no clues at to the culprit behind this attack. More details as
they become available."
