The rules concerning fighting in Eurasia and San Angeles, apply to everyone.
Without exception.
This means that, even if you're Bass or Zero, if you start throwing punches or
trying to kidnap people, you're going to be swarmed by paranoid and heavily
armed security officers. These are peaceful places by design.
San Angeles is so dedicated to neutrality that there is essentially no freedom
anywhere in the city. Remember Demolition Man? This is worse.
Eurasia is dedicated to keeping people from doing anything that could escalate
to punching holes out into the icy vacuum of space. They have a swarm of
officers trained to fight by unscrupulous mercenaries and are nearly as
totalitarian as San An.
So now you know the rest of the story.

Light Labs Rules Mon Mar 08 Duo

Alright, the scene tonight for the Robot Masters and Maverick Hunters at Light
Labs have the following rules:
1. You are not required to pair up.
2. You are not required to stay in the same room.
3. You MUST read every pose you see, it is /imperative/ that you stay aware of
/everything/ that is going on around you.
4. To move to another room, you must +retreat first, and it must be your turn,
you cannot attack during the same round as your +retreat.
5. Parting shots count as your turn. Also, persuing someone who is +retreating
is your turn, and you yourself must +retreat as well.
6. Despite not having paired fight partners, you still must get consent from
someone before attacking them. Also, if you attack someone, you must provide
them a round to counterattack.
7. Don't bounce around too much, but do feel free to move around if your
character has a good reason for doing it.

Two things for ya:
1. Stop sitting IC all day. We know what you're doing. If you're not actually
RPing, and we see you sitting alone we're going to bop you. Also, consider
TURNING IT OFF FROM TIME TO TIME.
Why?
Because frequencies take, on average, about two days to be cracked these days.
Do you realize how irritating it is for facheads to log on and waste an hour
or two of their online time fiddling OOCly with radio frequencies and updating
the FMOTD? It'd be nice if you guys at least gave us a few days to at least
pretend like we feel safe in our communications.
2. Stop being such smart alecs or trying to be cute and/or belligerent via
taunting over the radio. Most facheads these days are ICly at the end of their
rope, to the point where the next person who starts casually talking on the
Hunter frequency is going to end up a guinea pig for Cossack's
ferret-jello-reploid chimera project.
Either way, Interception is being completely recoded now thanks to how
widespread the ability is, and how well it apparently works, as it's honestly
made radio frequencies pointless, as they only last a few hours to a day at
the most. So try and be a little less tenacious about cracking frequencies for
the time being? We'd appreciate it. :D

Kidnapping Sat Mar 13 Duo

Since we've had two situations recently, I figure this bears repeating:
Kidnappings require admin approval.
Why?
Because they're fun for two, and frustrating for everybody else, especially
the higher ups in the chain of command. When someone gets captured, ICly it
looks bad on them, and ICly they're going to be doing their darndest to get
that person back. But once that person is back, suddenly they're also a
security risk, especially if they're kidnapped by the Mavericks or to a
lesser degree the Robot Masters (due to the Virus and WilyCode, despite the
Virus being known OOCly to require consent ICly. ICly the majority of the
world still believes you can get it via prolonged exposure and some more
crazier people think you can get it via touch, think AIDS in the 80's, for
those of you old enough to remember). Now, most kidnappings involve: 1 person
to kidnap. 1 person to be kidnapped. And 1 person the first two want to save
them. While this is all fine and good, this also isn't very fair to the others
in the faction and/or related to that person. It's for these reasons and many
more (I've seen far too many kidnappings go wrong in my six-seven years of
mushing/admining) that we don't just allow kidnappings/capture/arrest RP
without at least some kind of admin notification and a good, well thought out
reason for it to happen, and some kind of acheivable goal for one or both
sides of the coin. Basically, if you're going to kidnap someone, have a really
good reason for it, other than 'to make the other faction mad' etc. I know
this is quite different than how a lot of other MUSHes do things, but M3 has
never been 'other MUSHes' :D. Now don't think we're automatically opposed to
capture RP, just understand that we'd like to know where yer going with it,
and how long it's going to go on for (the number one reasons kidnappings go
sour is because they end up dragging on and on and on). Anywho, any Q's? My
mailbox and/or door is always open.

Before I go into temporary hibernation due to illness...
Drive and Swim are /not/ 'driving a car' and 'treading water'.
Drive is, essentially, the sort of skill level where one has a pilot's
license. Drive isn't just for cars, you know- all non-com vehicles, even- for
example- the Vorpal, use 'drive' as their skill.
Swim is, essentially, swimming long, /long/ distances. Most people can swim
laps in the pool. Few people can swim, say, the English Channel or the
Mississippi River(the long way, not across).

Well, there is of course, a problem. The ChatDb and MailDb both suffered
severe corruption in the last few months. Because of this, both are gone. I'm
trying to track down /why/, but it'll likely be a few days before I check all
possibilities. The Outdb, which the game is saved in itself, was corrupted
mid-save from the mu* server we're on crashing. I was able to dig up a DB from
two days ago so we lost that much work.

The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed.
The desert was the apotheosis of all deserts, huge, standing to the
sky for what looked like an eternity in all directions. It was white and
blinding and waterless and without feature save for a faint, cloudy haze of
the mountains which sketched themselves on the horizon and the devil-grass
which brought sweet dreams, nightmares, death. An occasional tombstone sign
pointed the way, for once the drifted track that cut its way through the thick
crust of alkali had been a highway. Coaches and buckas had followed it. The
world had moved on since then. The world had emptied.
The gunslinger had been struck by a momentary dizziness, a kind of
yawning sensation that made the entire world seem ephemeral, almost a thing
that could be looked through. It passed and, like the world upon whose hide he
walked, he moved on. He passed he miles stolidly, not hurrying, not loafing. A
hide cookiebag was slung around his middle like a bloated sausage. It was
almost full. He had progressed through the khef over many years, and had
reached perhaps the six-hundredth level. Had he been a Stardroid holy man, he
might not have even been hungry; he could have watched his own body starve
with clinical, detatched attention, feeding its crevices and dark inner
hollows only when his logic told him it must be done. He was not a Stardroid,
however, nor a follower of the Man Duo, and considered himself in no way holy.
He was just an ordinary Hunter, in other words, and all that he could say with
real certainty was that he was hungry.
Congratulations to Michael Eildath, the MUSH's very own Gunslinger,
on getting a grand total of six hundred cookies!

REMINDER - San Angeles, Eurasia, a Sun Mar 28 Aldebaran

Remember, folks - ICly, San Angeles and Eurasia are COMBAT FORBIDDEN ZONES.
Even for the ubermechs such as Sigma and Bass, they're overwhelmed by the raw
density of guards and dragged off to a jail cell if they start fighting. In
practical terms, this means that if you use the combat code, you are
teleported to a jail room until an admin lets you out.
Also remember - THE COMBAT CODE ASSUMES THAT ANY ATTACK CODE USED IN THESE
AREAS IS A HOSTILE ACTION. Not all attacks you can use ARE hostile, i.e. joke
attacks and perhaps some kinds of stuns, BUT the same applies - the code will
see you doing this and dump you to rot in a jail cell. So please, DON'T USE
THE CODE in San Angeles or Eurasia. (And don't ICly fight there, either, for
that matter).
