Houston, which is on an island in the Pacific: excellent! I've had plenty of

Neo Arcadia is now a full faction. However, it has at least one attached
organization, the White Dragon Striders, and another may possibly be added by
the end of the year.
The ruling on that is this: Anyone with a current Strider who is headed for the
White Dragons /and/ a Neo Arcadian alt is grandfathered in, as are the usual
rulings on alt limits (if you shelve or drop, you are no longer grandfathered
in and must adhere to the limits from then on out). However, for future
applications, you will not be allowed to have more than one character with a
Neo Arcadian affiliation tag, regardless of whether they are in the proper
military structure or merely in an attached organization.

The Administration reserves the right to immediately launch your attack apps
into low Earth orbit if they:
* Have attacks with lots of new elements that weren't originally associated
with your character. Having a lot of elements is bad. Stick with one or two if
at all possible. While the occasional "flavor" attack is OK, covering half of
news types5 is not.
* Have Homing or Area as a major part of the request. Especially Homing.
* Are not in a coherent format that are easy for the app-staffer to understand.
New attacks in one portion, renamed attacks in another.
* Use big and frightening words the Administration doesn't understand.
Especially French words. They frighten us.

As a component to the new abilities that have been added recently, there is
something else the admin have been discussing. However, since it's a bigger
change than adding abilities, we decided to put it to a player vote to decide
whether or not we would do it.
Basically, the idea is to split ENHANCED_SENSES--currently, an ability that has
RP-only effects, or at least a really limited coded effect--into three
seperate abilities based on enhanced-sense type. After some debate, we decided
on a three-way split.
Enhanced_Vision: Enhanced_Vision is the ability to see outside of the normal
visible spectrum. For some characters it may be infrared (heat vision), for
some it could be X-rays (density vision). Or, it could be the ability to sweep
an area for electronic fields, which is the best way to counter those who have
Stealth due to special training rather than technological advanacements. Your
character should have a defined means of Enhanced_Vision. Enhanced_Vision can
typically counter Holograms and will always allow one to see through the
disguies of characters without Disguise, but does not counter Disguise or
total invisibility.
Enhanced_Hearing: Enhanced_Hearing defeats invisibility (one should not be both
totally invisible and completely silent with Stealth since that's a bit much
to ask for) and can counter vocal mimicry, as well as occasionally defeating
those who disguise their voice over the radio.

Enhanced Senses, Voting (2) Tue Aug 17 Gemma

Beast_Senses: Includes a version of the two above, meaning that a character
with Beast_senses does not need to apply for Enhanced_vision or _hearing.
However, this also includes an enhanced sense of smell, which is the only way
to counter Disguise and more complex solid holograms. Other sorts of
enhanced-senses, such as the air-current sense common to insects, might fall
into the Beast_senses category. This power can be useful to counter some other
forms of deception which are difficult to defeat by the two other forms of
enhanced senses. Beast_Senses is reserved for aniform reploids or cyborgs, and
for e-humans or natural humans who are attuned especially to their instinctive
senses. It does not make sense for humanoid robots and cyborgs.
Note that if we do this split, we are also debating adding abilities to cover
vocal Mimicry (the ability to use another character's voice) and that seperate
Solid_holograms from Holograms...but if we leave Enhanced_senses as it is, the
other changes aren't really needed. In essence, this is just a way of defining
what one character's e-senses do, versus another character's e-senses. It also
(purposely) contains some incentive for people to app aniform characters. The
two lower-tier versions of e-senses will be easier to apply for than the full
package, and may be added to characters that don't have Enhanced_senses now.
Other characters that do have Enhanced_senses may end up with Beast_senses, or
both Vision and Hearing, or just one of the two depending on what they
actually do. We're still working on figuring out how we will add or change
code to support the changed ability.
Now this idea may not be quite on the right track... so that's where you come
in. Please use the voting machine in the OOC lounge to tell us your thoughts
on the matter. Do you like the idea of splitting the ability?
The admin can't make this decision without your help, but in the way of new
methods of splitting, we obviously can't incorporate every suggestion.
However, your input is really important in this case, since this change might
involve a good bit of work, and we want to make sure people are happy.

Alrighty! It's been a while since we had one, but now I think I've
finally narrowed some details down on when and where the official Videoland
MUSH/Mega Man MUSH Meet shall be at. I don't have a neat catchy name for it
yet, but I'm sure I'll think of something sooner or later! Right now however,
the main thing I'm looking for is how many people would be able to make it in
the time frame allotted, and how many people are interested in coming. I don't
need solid promises of attendance, but I'd like to get some kind of estimate
for what kind of turnout to expect. It's a somewhat odd time frame, so if we
don't have enough interested parties, we may just cancel it for this year and
try again next year. :D
As is, the current plan is for it to be held in Dallas, TX. There are two
airports here, both within driving distance from the location we plan to hold
it at. Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field. There is
an inexhaustable supply of affordable hotels in the region (as I have learned
from the many Z-Meets held here) and there may be some room available with
some of the locals here as well if they're willing to provide it. Once I get
more details from them, I'll post updates. The allotted dates are Tuesday,
December 14th through Monday, December 20th. You ain't gotta stay the whole
time, I would figure the weekend would be the time frame where the most folks
would be there. There's tons of stuff to do down here, a Six Flags, 24 hour
Bowling /and/ Putt-Putt (MIDNIGHT MINI GOLF, YOU KNOW YOU WANT IT), the most
comprehensive video game colletion amongst those of us locals, one of the
sweetest Japanese arcades in the country, ten billion malls, and a partridge
in a pear tree~!
Anywho! If you're interested in coming and think you could probably make it,

We'll both be happy to answer any questions you might have about the area and

Third Key - Gemma, Scorpio
There is no Assistant Director position anymore and GripeStaff/JudgeStaff will
be handled by me. FacHeads will be making up the bulk of TP Staff, and
JudgeStaff members will be explained at a later time and date once the project
is ready to be launched.

Command Mission - X8 Notes Tue Aug 31 Duo

Since I know this will come up quite a bit with the game on the verge coming
out.
The characters from Command Mission and Megaman X8 almost definately will /not/
be showing up in 2004. We just got done adding a crapton of new FCs, made
three factions full factions, and we basically have a lot of room to grow into
over the next few months before we think about adding new characters.
Will they be added? Oh, most definately. What factions will they be in and what
will they be doing? That question won't have an answer until next year at the
earliest.
For now, just look out for Paradise Lost and Brand New Sky teaser posts, as
well as a couple of other TPs that are so confidential that /I/ don't even
know the name of them!
