Force Metal and Advancement Fri Mar 04 Gemma

I've had a lot of questions about what Force Metal is 'going to do' here on M3.
Time to get the record straight about a few things...
1. At this time or at any time in the forseeable future, we aren't going to
switch to a Force Metal Advancement System as proposed by Duo before he left.
That plan was always tenative. We've decided against it.
2. Right now, Cinnamon and only Cinnamon has access to Force Metal generation.
3. That does not mean that Force Metal will never do anything else, nor does it
mean it will never be found anywhere else. You've been told in an IC manner
that it has other potentials besides for healing, but you are not certain ICly
what those potentials are.
4. Don't ask in an OOC manner what Force Metal does or can do. Instead, try to
find out IC, by RPing with the people that have access to it.
5. Again: the arrival of Force Metal on this game means SOMETHING, but please
do not assume that it means we are doing Duo's advancement system. Thanks.
PS: Good things come to those who RP and investigate into what's going on
rather than those who wait to see what will happen. :)

Again, please format all of your attacks in applications in the following
manner:
Agitated Board Post = 0 Ranged Misc Area Homing
I will make a post to this effect for every application which I recieve that
does not follow this format. The adding of the attack list is the most
complicated and error-prone step in the character creation process; if we have
to retype twenty attacks to fit this format, it is very likely that we will
screw some of them up. Save both of us work; format your attacks in this way.

M3 has a one month waiting period between getting new characters. This means
that whenever you recieve a new character, you cannot recieve another new
character for one month, unless they're an FC who has a closing date set by
someone else. Rejected applications don't count towards the limit, but
characters that you recieved and then dropped do.

Multiple apps Tue Mar 15 Gemma

Some people have questions about whether or not they can send us multiple
applications at a time. With the new FCs being added and increasing chances to
play OCs here, there have been a lot of people with multiple characters they
want or multiple ideas. There have been a few people trying to scatter-shot
app boxes to get the best chance of getting something they want.
As you know, there is a one-month waiting period between applications. That
means, you cannot app a new character until exactly a month after you recieve
a new character. The only exception is if a feature character you want is
closing. If the character is closing, you can send a competing app at any time
within the closing period.
Now some things you may not know. Do not send multiple apps to multiple
staffers simultaneously, hoping one will go through. If you decide to retract
an application sent, do so immediately, and do it before trying to send
another application. Otherwise, we'll just void both applications. It is best
NOT to retract applications on M3 if you have not yet heard back about them.
It makes us look at you funny. Try to only send apps if you mean them. If you
get a reply back and the app is rejected, then it's cool to just call off the
app, but don't click 'send' and then immediately change your mind and send
something else. Don't send a new application to a different box, or the same
box, until you've heard back about the first one you've sent. It confuses us.
If we approve your character...but you don't want it and want to app something
else... yes, we will hold onto your app for you for the requisite month. But
don't be surprised if, after the month has passed, we send it back for
revisions or clarifications at that time rather than immediately handing out
the next character. If anything, we want to be sure that YOU are sure before
we go through the process of handing out a character or generating an OC.

Many, I would even say most, of your applications are coming to us looking like
this:
2) How much do you know about Mega Man in general and
the M3 theme?
I have played every game on console except X8, though
I have never gotten the
chance to play with the hand helds much. I own all
the old Mega Man games (1-8, plus
soccer, and the collection). Having been on M3 awhile
I'm familiar with the theme and its
variations and similarities.
It is somewhat difficult to read entire applications like this. I'm sure none
of you write them this way; the problem is probably a result of different
email wrapping. So at least for the Hunter box, please do one of the following
for your apps:
* Set your email client to wrap text at 74 characters or less, or not wrap at
all. Word processors with extra features may also add strange wrapping code.
* Send your application as an attatchment.

A couple of notes about the current status of RM OCs.
Many people don't realize that RM OCs are appable in any capacity, since the
news files don't mention them. However, there are a few OCs that have become
part of the faction. In every current case, that has been done through a
defection from Civilian status.
There does not seem to be any interest thusfar in applying for a member of the
African Militia (that would be still-loyal and thus still affiliated), so as
of now, I am declaring the African Militia potential bracket as closed. If you
had a concept like that on hold and just hadn't apped it yet, appeal to me.
Quite frankly, it's very challenging to come up with OC concepts for the Robot
Masters that do not marginalize one or more existing FCs in the faction. So as
of now I'm changing the policy on them. If you still have a desire to make an
OC that works within the Robot Master faction, do what the other RM OCs have
done. App, and play that character as an unaffiliated civilian. Roleplay with
the Masters, and then, if you seem to be a likely fit, you may apply to defect
in and get an 'RM' flag. This is realy the most likely way that I'll be able
to see if your character is a reasonable fit for the faction, or not.
Note that in no case is apping for an RM OC any kind of justification for
having tattoo cybernetics, or, in fact, cybernetics in general. Wily is not a
cyberneticist, and tattoo cybernetics have become a strict function of the
Yakuza. Defecting into the RM faction won't make you a cyborg, either, so
don't expect major stat upgrades if you do decide to defect in, if you're
apping human or cyborg. If you're apping android or reploid, it's likely
you'll be WilyCoded if you try to defect.
