I have nuked five rooms in Europe (you won't miss them), and redesced the area
to hopefully reflect the correct political climate and atomosphere of this
post-Empire age. I also added and moved around some exits which will hopefully
make it easier to get around, and repaired the nearby water, sky, and
underground areas, or at least to the best of my knowledge. If there is
anything I have neglected or any suggestions you have, please let me know.
I'm not done nuking rooms here, but one step at a time. Run any suggestions for
it by me please.

It is not yet built on the grid.
ICly, the Kansas City and south Pacific anchor points are still under final
construction; the former has to reorganize a large city, while the latter is
isolated and is repairing minor damage from the recent seismic activity.
In the near future, Kansas City (and by extension the Elevator itself) will be
available for use in scenes. However, the structure was built with the
potential for heavily-armed robot mayhem in mind; while it has weak points and
many potential targets, it is not going to be easy for anyone to bring down
permanently.

With a few recent characters, both extant FCs and new applicants, the limits of
unenhanced humans have been put, to some degree, into question.
While there are peak limits for each stat, a human cannot have /everything/ at
its peak; unenhanced human applications should, ideally, stay at or under 36
CST, and that's for 'top of the line human soldier'. Striders and e-humans
are, naturally, a different bag of fish.

The Sigma Virus, Mavericks, & You Thu Jun 16 Scorpio

It has come to my attention that several players on the MUSH have
spoken out against the nature of the Sigma Virus, and its effect on both
players and roleplay. A few people have suggested radical changes, including
neutering the virus by means of a permanent cure.
Please allow me to retort.
Since the advent of the Sigma Virus, the Mavericks have become an
active faction once more. This is not wholly due to leadership or individual
players, but at the same time, I will not attribute it solely to the Virus.
The Virus, however, has some role in giving the Mavericks both identity and
factional coherency, and it should be recognized.
ICly, the Virus is the common bond by which all Mavericks are joined.
Without this bond, they had just as well be civilians, with no cohesive center
or reason to band together. They are joined in programming and purpose, and to
do away with this reason for their being would be to rip away the very heart
of the faction. The virus is Sigma himself, and every Maverick no matter how
large or small, carries a part of Sigma with him.
Make no mistake: the virus has changed nothing about the Mavericks as a
whole. Before the advent of the Sigma Virus, the Mavericks were as they are
now. You could not defect out of the Coalition, and you could only join on
infection. We have changed this only in the name of the virus and means of
infection. The Mavericks have existed and flourished for the entire life of
this MUSH using the same paradigm under which they now operate.
To suggest otherwise seems, at best, counterproductive.

Stands Objects Fri Jun 17 Gemma

Stands Objects are really fairly easy to make, and frequently needed so people
can watch scenes without interrupting or effecting the +odds command.
I made one. It's very primitive, but it's in the Free Code Room off the OOC
Lounge.
I'm sure the really good coders on the game could do a better job, but, in the
mean time, you can see that the special code set on this object is "@listen
Object=*"
This object doesn't append anything to the front of the poses from outside, so
it won't add anything weird to your logs.
This object is free for you to take, if you want. Just go OOC, take it out of
the free code room, drop it in the scene, enter it, and please put it back
when you're done so others don't have to go tracking it down.
Alternatively, make your own: just examine the object, and copy what I did.

Flinging off his cloak, Durandal strides forward.
Durandal: You have allowed this Virus to twist your mind until now... until now
you have become the very thing you swore to destroy!
Circling, they glare at each other. Durandal makes his way to his mother,
checking her worriedly.
Foucalt: Don't lecture me, Durandal. I see through the lies of the Maverick
Hunters. I do not fear the Virus as you do. I will bring peace, justice,
freedom, and security to my Maverick Empire!
Durandal: YOUR Maverick Empire?

runs into the kitchen with his hair on fire. He runs around in a circle,
beating at his hair and screaming.
FLASH MAN <voiced by Takeshi "Chairman" Kaga>: "Hey, look at that."
HEAT MAN <voiced by Steve Buscemi>: "Wow, that looks like it hurts. Hey, you OK
there, Doctor?"
WILY continues screaming and batting at his head.
NEEDLE MAN <voiced by Michael Clarke Duncan>: "Damn, I bet he's going to
hyperventilate like that."
A lengthy discussion betweens between HEAT MAN, FLASH MAN and NEEDLE MAN about
Dr. Wily's hair being on fire, a la a Sunday morning political talk program.
AQUA MAN, meanwhile, comes in and puts his hands on his hips.
AQUA MAN <voiced by RuPaul>: "Why are you ALWAYS doing thins like this? Stop
that!"
WILY doesn't answer, starting to roll around fruitlessly on the ground. He
continues to scream (consider SFX budget increase for screaming). AQUA MAN
joins in the discussion until, finally, MARIACHI enters. Yelling incoherently
in Spanish, Mariachi leaps up onto the sink and takes a SPRAY NOZZLE from its
compartment (product placement here, please) and hoses down Dr. Wily, putting
out the fire.
The Robot Masters present in the discussion look at WILY, prone on the ground,
collectively shrug, and leave.
VOICE OVER <Bass VO gig>: "It's not enough to take a stand. Take action. Don't
wait for someone else to do something you can do."
MARIACHI <voiced by Antonio Bandaras, subtitled from Spanish>: "Action is my
anti-apathy."
