Perfect World
by Melady101

This is to make up for the fic I had to delete. It's also my first attempt at a song fic everyone. This takes place after Sazabi's death. How will the last of his family handle the news of his destruction. Read and find out.

Perfect World

They had been held in cells for a whole week before they were aloud out, but right now they wished they were still locked up. The gundams had captured them and cut them off from the outside world so when they found out what happened while they'd been unconscious they once again separated themselves from all living things.
______________________

The city of Neotopia was at peace once again. Citizens went about their daily lives without fear for they now knew of the `great protectors'. Everyone was happy or at least almost everyone.

Zapper and Grappler had retreated to the remains of the Neotopia Twin towers to hide and go over what the gundams had told them. At first they'd thought it was a joke, but now they knew it was true.

“So,” Grappler said quietly as he sat down, “they really did it. Sazabi's really gone.”

“Yeah” Zapper answered, leaning against one of the towers outer walls.

Both were silent as they watch the people pass by below. Families. Men and Women walking side by side with smiles on their faces and some had children. Siblings; almost every family had at least two children, but one family caught Grappler's attention and he looked on in envy.

I never could have seen this far
I never could have seen this coming
It seems like my worlds falling apart

Zapper saw his brother staring and moved from the shadows to see what was so interesting, instantly regretting the move. A family of five; a mother and father sat on a bench, each holding a small, sleeping child in their arms. The hoods on the children's jackets covered half of their faces. Next to them a small blond haired boy who was watching his brothers intently. Almost as if they would disappear if he looked away or would miss something important.

Why is everything so hard?
I don't think that I can deal
With the things you said
It just won't go away.

Zapper stepped back into the shadows, but Grappler stayed put. There was a longing in his eye and Zapper knew what he was thinking, he felt the same way.

In a perfect world
This could never happen

Grappler's shoulders shook and Zapper clenched his fists. Both were on the verge of tears and there was no chance of hiding it.

In a perfect world

They had lost the last of their family other then each other.

You'd still be here

Sazabi hadn't just been their older brother, but he'd seemed like a father to them as well.

And it makes no sense

Now he was gone and it was all because of the gundams.

I can just pick up the pieces
But to you this means nothing
Nothing at all

Now they would have live with the very people who tore their lives apart and destroyed their family.

At that point Zapper pushed himself away from the wall and walked to the other side of what remanded of the visitors center between the two towers. He couldn't show weakness in front of anyone, especially not his twin. Grappler was thinking the same thing and was grateful Zapper had moved away before he lost control and started to cry.

Zapper did too, but still both stayed as silent as possible. In the distance someone was playing music, but neither really listened to it. If they had then they might of noticed that the lyrics went along with what they were thinking, almost word for word.

I used to think that I was strong
Until the day it all went wrong
I think I need a miracle to make it through
I wish that I could bring you back
I wish that I could turn back time
Cuz I can't let go
I just can't find my way

Suddenly cracks began to spread along the roof like a spider's web before it collapsed and the two fell along with it.

Without you I just can't find my way.

They hit the ground hard and some of the rubble covered them, but what caught the two's attention was the noise all around them. Grappler pushed some rocks off his legs and slowly stood. He looked around and saw Zapper struggling and rushed over to help him up before trying to focus on the noise.

“It's screaming”

In a perfect world

Zapper pushed his way threw the fallen rock and back outside only to be pulled back in by his brother.

This could never happen

Another tremor shook their already unstable shelter and black smoke from an explosion filled the air.

You'd still be here

They covered their faces and raced outside, narrowly dodging another blast.

And it makes no sense

Whatever was going on it was big because the whole town seemed to be coming down.

I can just pick up the pieces
But to you this means nothing
Nothing at all

Grappler glanced over at were the family of five had been only to see two. Three were missing! Zapper noticed too and they ran over to help the two remaining.

I don't know what I should do now
I don't know where I should go

The blond haired boy was shouting, one of his younger sibling asleep in his arms. Grappler grabbed the kid and tried to pull him away from the towers, but he refused to move.

“NO! My parents are inside. I can't leave.”

I'm still here waiting for you
I'm lost when you're not around

Zapper stopped momentarily to glance at the kid before taking off again, back into the collapsing building.

“Hey you idiot! Get back here.” Grappler shouted after him. It was to late though and he knew it. He picked up the struggling kid and, with one last glance at the towers, made his way to a safety zone.

I need to hold on to you
I just can't let you go

The boy kicked and screamed the entire time, making Grappler consider dropping him, but kept going until he'd reached a safe distance away from the battle zone. When he looked back he saw people running all over the place and by the towers there were multiple explosions going off.

Then there was one huge blast and the two towers fell. The boy screamed as he watched them fall, all while his brother slept in his arms, oblivious to the turmoil around him. Grappler just watched the structure fall and he had a dreadful feeling that the last of his family was going along with it.

In a perfect world
This could never happen

Once everything settled around the tower Grappler and the boy were the first ones back on the scene. Grappler shouted his brother's name, fearing the worst while the boy searched for his parents. In the distance several Gunperrys landed and SDG officers emerged along with the ominous Gundam Force, complete with their own human mascot, Shute.

In a perfect world
You'd still be here

Grappler ignored them as he pushed away large pieces of rock, hoping to uncover something. Suddenly the ground he stood on began to move and when he jumped off it was lifted up and thrown away. Below were three humans; the boy's mom and dad with the other child between them.

Behind them was Zapper. He managed to catch his brother's eye before collapsing. Grappler ran to his side and took one of his hands in a firm grip.

And it makes no sense
I could just pick up the pieces
But to you

“You had me worried there for a second bro. How ya feel?”

“Tired. Hurt all over. Nothin all that new. What about the humans?”

Grappler looked over at the reunited family. The blond haired kid was in his parents' arms, along with two other sleeping children. “They're fine and amazingly those two young ones are still sleepin.”

Zapper laughed and Grappler smiled.

This means nothing
Nothing at all

The family walked over and smiled down at their two saviors. “Thank you. You saved our lives as well as our sons. How could we ever repay you?” the women asked looking down at the two.

Grappler quickly turned his head away and muttered a quick “no problem”. The adults however were persistent.

“I'm sure there's something we can do for you guys. Anything.” The man said, handing his wife the other child and taking Grappler's hand. “Perhaps,” he pushed an object into Grappler's hand and stepped away.

Zapper pulled himself up to a sitting position and Grappler fell down next to him. In his hand was a golden emblem; it looked just like the one that belonged to their family. Zapper took the object and gasped.

“We can give you anything.,” the woman said as the boy next to her looked at the two with interest. There was something about him that just…Wait! His eyes. They're RED!

The twin's breath came up short and Zapper fell into a coughing fit. The man kneeled down until he was eye level with the two and once Zapper calmed his breathing they stared back. Everything was quiet and he asked, “It's what you want right?”

You feel nothing
Nothing at all

“Captain! I think you should see this.” one of the minors shouted to his commander. Captain quickly maneuvered threw the field of debris and over to where the solider stood. “Look” he said quietly, pointing down into an area clear of rubble.

Below stood three civilians, two holding children and on the ground behind them were two lifeless bodies; Zapper and Grappler.

“What are those civilians doing here? Get them out before they get hurt.” Captain said, turning to the minor.

“But sir what about…them.” the solider asked, looking back at the two bodies.

Captain looked down into the clearing before answering, “Gather all the Dark Axis followers. I suppose they deserve to be told about their generals deaths.”

With that he left the solider to his work and joined another group of struggling minors.

Zero, Bakunetsumaru and Shute looked down into the clearing before returning to their work, just as Captain had done; showing no emotion what so ever.

The family took note on how much compassion the gundams showed before following the solider out of the area. The blond haired boy stopped as they past Captain and turned to face the gundam. Captain turned and gave the kid a reassuring smile, but what he got in return was a look of hate and anger.

Then the kid ran after his parents, leaving an astonished gundam behind.

“Those eyes.” Captain said quietly before shaking his head and turning back on the task at hand.

“You shouldn't have done that you know. He might suspect something.” The man told his son as they headed home.

“I know, but I just can't help it dad. They show no sympathy for anyone other then themselves and their people. You saw how they looked at Zapper and Grappler.” He paused before adding, “He was worse to me!”

“Yes, but what's important now is that they don't have to deal with those gundams anymore. Now,” the woman pulled the hood that had hidden half of one of her children's face away. As she did his already spiked red hair flared out and his eyes fluttered open for the first time. They were red, but darker then his older brother's.

The man did the same with the child he was holding. His long, blue spiked hair was reveled and when his eyes opened they glowed a deep blue.

“We're finally together again. All of us; we're a family.” The women said quietly.

“And this time we'll live long enough so our sons can remember our faces.” The man finished.

The family stopped in front of a large house and the two parents sent their children down on the grass.

In the fading light you could make out a few more details on the two children's faces. A long, smooth scar could be seen over the blue haired boy's left eye and when the red haired boy lifted his head he smiled, his eyes darkened with mischief and on his head was a strange, but permanent attachment. The visor of an old fashion knights helmet.

Cool. I think this turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. And here's somethin I need to say. I don't want anyone to take my idea and write anything off it. (people have done it so I now have to mention it…no one here)
