Okay. Memes are 'infectious' ideas, concepts, or units of cultural information.
They replicate - all those nursery rhymes you heard as a kid? They're memes.
All those urban myths you hear about? Memes. Weebl and Bob? Yup. Meme... or a
whole lot of memes.
So, would not the Sigma Virus be a meme, also?
How does this work as a concept? App, I don't know... a scientist or hacker who
studies (read: is obsessed with the idea of...) memes, maybe even the Sigma
Virus. Give 'em a V-Armor with ideas based on 'popular' (annoying) memes,
like... 'All your base are belong to us', or that badger song thing. Call it
Memetic - if Reploid or Android... then fine. If Human, then the person
renamed themself. We're talking /obsessed/, after all.
Or, I dunno, just work it into a concept of your own. 's just a thought.

Profile: Given a double-meaning name, Rook is named both for his form (rooks
are related to crows) and his function. Originally a chess player, Rook became
bored with his purpose in life soon after reaching Grand Master status. Using
his sharp mind for strategy and planning, he came to <faction> as a tactician.
Combining those skills with massive upgrades, he became a critical part in the
defense of both the base and projects around the world. While slow for an
airborne unit, Rook is extremely well armored and can usually predict his
opponent's maneuvers well ahead of time, using the skills he learned in his
chess playing career. His only true failing is his inability to effectively
fight at range, and his inability to take into account truly ridiculous or
wild actions of those he faces.

Notes: I've always liked characters with double-meaning names. The chess aspect
obviously is used a lot, coming up in a wide number of attacks and giving the
character an amusing social hook. High END and STR, but surprisingly low VEL
for an airborne combatant. Very calm and collected, maddeningly good at
predicting things before they happen. Probably shouldn't be a Hunter, simply
to avoid the Rook/Rock confusion that's sure to happen.

Currently working for the Yakuza as a 'stepping stone' to creating his own
empire, Dr. Tapir has his sights set high. Unfortunately, he is, much like Dr.
Wily, quite crazy and his ego is beyond hope. He has little chance of actually
taking over anything, lacking any of the resources or intelligence to do so.

Notes: Yes, a reploid with the word Dr. in the name. A mad scientist in the Dr.
Wily vein, except much less capable. Egotistical in the extreme, and has a
very stilted view of reality. Unlikely to ever really get anywhere with his
schemes, as they tend to be too simple-minded to work. Likely works for the
Yakuza due to being massively in debt to them, after getting funds to build
his 'army'.

Motto: "Not conspiracies. Conspiracy. Singular."
A former news report who was disgusted by the corruption he saw, Vic opted to
undergo extensive cybernetic operations to make him into the man he is today.
His neural enhancers permit him to make connections between seemingly
unrelated things. He claims that these enhancers also gave him the ability to
communicate with whatever city he is in. Not the people or the authorities,
but the city itself. Though many will doubt this, all will agree that the
enhancements left him without a face. Some laugh at his attempts. Some laugh
at his beliefs. But no matter what other people think, everything is linked to
the all-encompassing conspiracy of the elite group of individuals that control
the entire world.
Weapon Name: The Theory
Weapon Type: Misc.
Comments: His primary weapon is him trying to explain his theories to other
people which either gives him a headache or incapacitates them with laughter.
He is based on the Question, one of DC Comic's numerous lesser known
characters. He could be fun to RP as making connections between anything and
everything. And you never know. He might just be right.

I sketched this in History class a couple of days ago, and the idea just sorta
stuck with me for some reason....
Name: Bandito Coyote
Faction: Maverick (possibly Civ)
Function: Illegal Fireworks Vendor
Gender: Male

Profile: A former resident of northern Mexico, Bandito was a simple Reploid
with a simple goal in life: making things go boom in a really cool fashion.
Most of his concoctions were of the highly illegal variety, but because of
their massive firepower, and the fact that he didn't worry about the poisonous
chemicals unleashed in their creation, made him highly in demand amongst
tourists from north of the border. With the rise of Neo-Arcadia, however, poor
Bandito had to run for his life while leaving his life's work behind. He would
never forgive humans for taking away the one thing he was good at, and as a
result drifted to the Maverick cause quite readily. As expected, Bandito has
turned his knowledge of fireworks to darker places, and is considered the
'go-to' guy for demolitions in the CRF. This is slightly impeded by Bandito's
pidgin speech, which barely resembles English /or/ Spanish. Everyone seems to
have a hard time figuring out what he's saying. Nevertheless, Bandito soldiers
on, occasionally selling bombs on the side. His greatest creation is the
Bandito Bomber, a gigantic cartoonish bomb that creates a massive blast and a
large cloud of noxious smoke. Unfortunately, with all the bombs he carries,
Bandito is a little afraid of fire....

Rather than caring for killing, Alef instead migrated more toward training and
reprimanding people, assisting allies and yet avoiding actually causing death.
This has made most believe that Alef is weak and tenderhearted, when in truth
he is merely looking for the best and the brightest to fight against.
Note: Alef means, in some instances, Paradox: God and Man. In other instances
it also means oxen, thousand, and of course teaching and master. Alef would
inherently be a powerful combat Android(42 CST), and of course he'd be one of
the more respected members of the Shadow Hunters. Or something. Yeah. I like
milk.

Chet went along with minimal issues, aside from the fact that Chet himself
continually thinks that everyone and everything is in need of repairs. The
need to repair all others has often drawn attention, and caused issues with
the other Shadow Hunters. However, when compared to others around the world,
Chet is nearly in a class of his own, although he is not quite as great as
Lifesaver.

every myth there is always a shred of truth. Ezekiel Mastratus is that truth,
a former UN scientist specializing in Unified Physics, but he wanted to do so
much more than sit in a lab all day, and so he decided to go out and find the
meaning of life at the bottom of a glass. While other doctors will be seen
wearing lab coats Ezekiel can be found in a loud Hawaiian shirt his
personality much like the shirt is loud and raucous as he cavorts from bar to
bar, pinching posteriors, and out drinking all comers. Even in the face of
sure danger, destruction, and death he refuses to take it seriously cracking
jokes, and leering at the girls as he drinks away. His knowledge of how the
world and his fifteen years of experience in bars allowing him to manipulate
the crowded drinking establishments to his whims provoking everything from a
free round of drinks to a seemingly random brawl, and then he is gone...
another city, another bar... a trail of empty mugs in his wake.

Note: I actually had another character like this long ago on another Mu*.
Anyway he's on par with the other 'real' doctors, but really has no interest
in 'pure' science anymore, he works along the bar scene creating theories and
other stuff about it. It is recommended you be good at techno babble, and

Here is the first of three character suggestions in a set. I'm not counting on
any of these coming to life since I know just how interested people are in
actually apping Character Suggestions (read: exactly zilch,) but apping any of
the three concepts to come from me will be highly interesting. All of these
three characters would be in the Minotaur Squad of the Mavericks and be a
"team" of some sort.
Name: Bazooka Mouse
Faction: Maverick
Function: Walking Rocket Launcher
Gender: Male
Quote: "My missiles can kick YOUR missiles' asses, AND hand them to them on a
platter. They don't call me 'Bazooka' for nothin'!"
Profile: Bazooka Mouse was originally built in the U.S. by a mechanics company
to test the resistances of a line of Ride Armors against various types of
missile weapons. However, when he realized he was being treated like property
and not like a living citizen, he soon turned his missiles on his human owners
and fled the company leaving a mass of blood and gore behind. Joining the
Mavericks, he became a warrior battling in the name of the Coalition with his
vast array of missiles. Bazooka Mouse is extremely proud of himself and his
explosive arsenal, and as a result, he is extremely brash. He often doesn't
think before going through with some actions, and this often gets him into
trouble. It is believed that this was why he lost his left eye; although he
always claims to have lost it in battle, many believe it was torn out as
punishment for questioning a higher officer's authority. In battle, he can be
as violent as an explosion, blasting the enemy mercilessly with the many
rockets at his disposal.

* A vast storm of miniature missiles that is surprisingly powerful. Think the
barrage of the Devastator from Duke Nukem 3D if you've played that and you've
got it. Ranged. Inefficient?

information.) Be like Mouser of Super Mario Bros. 2/Super Mario USA with
rockets! Do crazy stuff through impulse! Marvel at how stronger Assault's
gotten since that fight! Have a top-secret vendetta against Krieger Wolf for
tearing out your eye!

Here is concept #2 of 3.
Name: Freeze Meerkat
Faction: Maverick
Function: Nitrogen Warrior
Gender: Male
Quote: "If you're caught in my fog, you'll have no time to think before your
world shatters around you."
Profile: Originally built to be a firefighting Reploid, the Maverick formerly
known as Dowse Meerkat worked for a firefighting unit in the southwest of San
Angeles battling flames with a gun that blew the smothering foam found in most
fire extinguishers. However, when he discovered that the unit had been
improperly funded to combat three simultaneous wildfires that burned down
homes mostly belonging to Reploids, Dowse Meerkat lost faith in his city,
making him run from San Angeles, and eventually California. Found and brought
into the Mavericks, he had a new paint job done replacing his yellows and reds
with cyans and blues, changed his name to Freeze Meerkat, and replaced the
smothering material in his gun's supply with liquid nitrogen. Arrogant to the
twentieth power, Freeze Meerkat believes himself and his nitrogen gun to be
greater than anything else around. In fact, some believe that he is arrogant
to the point of narcissism, often spending time in front of a mirror polishing
his body and making sure he looks the best he can be. Thinking so highly of
himself, however, Meerkat always denies such preposterous claims. In battle,
he likes to blast his medium-range nitrogen gun in order to freeze enemies in
place, before attacking them with his secondary weapon, a "beam" version of
the fire-axe used by colleagues in his old firefighting job.
Weapon Name: Nitro-Spiral
Weapon Type: ICE CHEMICAL
* Meerkat spins around on one toe in place while blowing his nitrogen gun all
around him, freezing multiple people at once. A ranged area stun, probably
inefficient.
NOTES: Second Maverick in a trio that attacked Kangaroo's hometown (see Bazooka
Mouse's post.) Be an ice-centered character with both a unique origin /and/ an
uncommon way of being ice-centered! Be more arrogant than even Dan Hibiki
(Street Fighter series)! Favor a "stun and chop" strategy! Also be surprised
at what Kangaroo's become since the attack!

3 of 3. This is the final character in this set.
Name: Ballistic Hippo
Faction: Maverick
Function: Not-So-Minigunner
Gender: Male
Quote: "You 'ad one of the greatest minds 'round... now clean it off the
pavement, will ya'?"
Profile: Formerly built for the Repliforce as a combat unit, Ballistic Hippo
used to love his job fighting against the Robot Masters and the Mavericks.
However, as he saw more and more of the helplessness of the humans, he grew to
dislike the idea of protecting a "worthless" race. Soon, a minor mission to
protect a group of humans menaced by Robot Masters became a major disaster
when the Hippo turned around after battle was over and mowed down the entire
thirty-person crowd before his comrades could save them. Hippo was now
considered a Maverick, but when Repliforce attempted to capture him and put
him in a stasis lock, Ballistic resisted and escaped from base. Soon after
that, he actually became a Maverick himself, once he was found and taken to
Maverick-occupied Berlin. Ballistic Hippo is large and imposing... well, maybe
not imposing, until one realizes that Hippo has a chaingun for a right arm,
allowing him to fire a huge spray of bullets upon an unlucky target. Hippo,
stereotypically of large, powerful types, is not the brightest of Reploids,
not remembering much most of the time except that humans are weak and he is
strong, but he can trash-talk with the best of them. He's also oddly fond of
plush animals, always keeping them with him when he enters a rest cycle. This
has lead less scrupulous Mavericks to believe that he's far too young for his
size, although /that/ is a misnomer. In battle, he mainly utilizes his
chaingun, and relies on physical strikes up close. Unfortunately, due to his
clumsy swings, as well as the loud whirring that telegraphs his chaingun
shooting, he does not often hit his targets. When he does, however, the damage
is phenomenal.
Weapon Name: Full Metal Madness
Weapon Type: BLUNT
* Hippo grabs and holds the opponent down while he unloads most of his ammo
into the enemy's body. Melee without a doubt. Inefficient?
NOTES: The last of three Mavericks that attacked Assault Kangaroo's hometown
together (see Bazooka Mouse's post.) Be a big and powerful striker and
shooter! Have a minigun for an arm! Be one of the few (if not the only)
low-DEX characters on the MUSH! Give Launch Octopus (even if he hasn't been
apped yet) some minor competition! Also be shocked at how much better
Kangaroo's gotten as with the others!
Oh, and before anybody asks... no, he has no relation to Crush Hippo. Sorry. :P

Profile: A black unicorn, Lance is the opposite of everything you'd expect from
a mythological unicorn. A honorless, backstabbing, vengeful bastard, he is
thoroughly evil in most any way you could think of. Perhaps making him more
dangerous is the fact that he's also quite intelligent, fighting effectively
in combat with great cunning and willingness to fight totally unfairly. This
is perhaps Lance's greatest downfall - his obsession with being as darkly evil
as possible. That and his strange urge to pretend to be a real unicorn, find
unsuspecting virgins, and beat the crap out of them when they try to get a
ride.

Notes: A pure comic book evil character, totally over the top with the sheer
lack of any redeeming characteristics at all. Hates all things good, relishes
kicking puppies and stealing candy, etc, all just for the sake of doing so.

Function: Deep Sea Excavation

Profile: While not technically made of diamond, Diamond Kraken is heavily
composed of some of the strongest natural substances known to mankind. With
massive tentacle-mounted, diamond-tipped drills, he specializes in going down
to the deepest parts of the ocean, then finding and extracting rare materials.
Used to the deepest seas, Diamond more often has fish for company than people.
While incredibly sociable, he has spent a lot of time alone in the depths and
has some less than desirable personal habits. Including a love for extremely
rancid puns and off-the-cuff haiku.

Notes: A Burrow/Submerge concept. Ridiculously high END. Great for an IC excuse

Profile: The creation of Mem was started after some consideration was made
about the fact that the world contained a good deal of water. Instead of
approaching the situation with a thought that Mem should be able to vanish
into the depths, instead the Yakuza concentrated on making certain Mem could
control the depths, by use of a manner of hydrokinesis. Mem was born, and now
wanders the oceans, studying everything about them and moving the water as he
sees fit. A master of aquatic combat, Mem has developed a personality akin to
the water he wields so readily in battle.
Note: Hydrokinetics relates, of course, to Telekinetics and Pyrokinetics,
wherein it seems to be an ability of the mind to move things. Whether or not
this would be allowed is beyond me..although it could prove highly useful.

Profile: On the surface Nun looks empty headed, with nothing but a pretty
face, beautiful hair and a body like no other. However, Nun is a conniving,
vicious and powerful Shadow Hunter, capable of manipulating a situation by
using her body to get what she wants, or merely by using her trident to stab
someone to death if they don't do as she says. With the capability of
surviving in the deepest parts of the ocean, Nun is mostly used for underwater
missions, although her fish-based tail can alter into a pair of shapely legs
if she must travel across the surface.
Note: Nun and Mem are closely related, and so they'd have a similar overall
"style", wherein they both excel in/around water.

Profile: Capable of burrowing through the ground to get to critical positions,
Mortar Groundhog is always one for taking people by surprise. Even out of
combat, his irritating love for surprises (especially practical jokes) earns
him quite a lot of ire. However, his intentions are usually good, and his
skills in the field make up for it. Capable of delivering a high explosive
payload with pinpoint precision, Mortar is a great asset for bailing out
friends in need. And despite the irritation he can cause, he's got plenty of
friends to help.

Notes: Big joker, especially loves surprises/shocks. Excellent at underground
navigation, but constantly gets lost when above ground. Genial and friendly,

dormant and safe. A highly exacting person, Kelvin is extremely careful about

But despite that, Wave Dingo is mostly the same jovial guy he was when he was
a mere civilian officer. Besides his unstoppable stream of jokes and quips,
Wave is a passionate surfer, spending most of his off-duty time playing in the
waves. When he's on duty, though, he's one of the best investigators in the
world - and his superiors know it. An expert in detective work, as well as a
highly capable waterborne combatant and interceptor, Wave is a critical
addition to Interpol's forces.

hyper, Crashcart is, perhaps beyond all else, courageous enough to move with
only light armament through the toughest battles to get to the injured and

Interpol to help handle the Yakuza's smuggling business. This bioroid's
massively long, rope-like limbs allow him to reach at incredibly long
distances, giving him an unusual edge in both fights and catching runaway
criminals.

Profile: Radiant Gruagach was an E-Human who was created with the hope of
generating a master of light and solar energy. While the conversion to an
enhanced Human worked, Gruagach was quite obviously altered in ways that had
not been anticipated. The hair of Radiant Gruagach was a deadly weapon,
hardened while also remaining mobile, and was capable of being manipulated
with a mere thought, thus meaning that it was no longer merely dead cells like
ordinary hair. Instead it was like Gruagach had gained a multitude of new
fingers, and was capable of delivering potent slashes, slaps and tickling
brushes with the hair, or even manipulating devices and switches. However, the
inherent ability of being able to manipulate light and even draw upon it for
energy remained in place, and so Radiant was labeled a success.
Note: Gruagach was a type of folklore/myth character, who's name means "The
Long Haired One". Don't mind me..I stupid!
