Any roll to infiltrate Skull Monument automatically succeeds.
It is very easy to get -permission- to infiltrate Skull Monument.
With that in mind: IT IS VERY HARD TO INFILTRATE SKULL MONUMENT.
Most people will not make it past the first room.
If you score an infiltration role on the Monument and have OOC permission to
enter, you MUST roleplay in every sequential room you encounter until (and,
more crucially, IF) you make it to a safe area. The coded defenses, which are
not all yet in place, are optional. Roleplaying the defenses is NOT optional.
They MUST be roleplayed.
If you are stuck in the position to pose defenses for the Monument, and you are
posing things like "There is only one Joe on guard," you are doing this
COMPLETELY incorrectly. This is a very very dangerous place for heroes. They
should not expect to make it past the first two rooms. Please read the descs
of each room you enter.
This is a different sort of base with different sort of rules. Please try and
respect the wishes of the faction and not wander freely through the base after
scoring your infiltration roll.

Beginning on the early morning of Friday the 11th and continuing through the
weekend, South and Central America, especially around the major metropolitan
areas, experience civil unrest unparalled in the history of the New World.
Driven by religious fervor, the Catholics of South and Central America go on a
rampage against Reploids in general, though their rallying cry is against
Mavericks. Mobs of tens of thousands of people tear through the streets of the
largest cities, striking out at any Reploid they see. Class pressures also
find a vent during this time of unrest, with large-scale looting, burning and
general lawlessness dominating.
Attempts to regain order in the largest cities will be extremely difficult, but
ultimately normalcy will be restored by Monday (unless something happens to
provoke the masses further).
Please RP appropriately.

It has been brought to my attention that some people were highly
offended by the scene that was held this weekend concerning the Mavericks, the
Vatican, and the death of the Pope. While I have had one or two people address
me with their concerns, and claims of many others sharing their feelings, I
haven't heard much from anyone else, so I've decided to have a voting machine
put out in the OOC longue, in order to ensure we don't inadvertantly offend
anyone in the future with topics such as real life religion.
Please understand that when this sub-plot was approved, we went to
great lengths to make sure it would be as unoffensive as possible, and as we
have failed, I'd like to take it upon myself to apologize on behalf of the
staff for any offense you may have taken over the content or any discusion
that occured afterwards. It is not our intent to ridicule the Catholic
institution or it's followers, and if we've made mistakes with this, then we
would really like to know so we don't make them again in the future.
The voting machine will have a hidden tally, and all votes are
confidential as always. I encourage all of you to please vote, even if you
weren't phased at all by any of this (there's a voting option for that stance
at that) so that we can get a more accurate tally of who and who isn't upset
about what transpired.
Again, I apologize, and I do hope that those who are highly offended
will be able to forgive us and remain faithful in us to do the best that we
can for you guys.

Thus far, I've found that most people have shared my opinion on the
matter. The IC side of things was handled fairly well, it was the OOC behavior
since that has been the bigger offense, and from what I've personally seen, I
can agree. I'd like to remind you guys that OOCly, this MUSH isn't a primary
forum for you to debate religous differences, if you'd like to, we have a
channel set aside for it, but even then, I would expect you all to be mature
and respectful of each other when discussing differing opinions on religion.
We've all been guilty of it in the past, myself included, and while I'm not
really going to go out of my way to slap wrists over this, I do hope that all
of us can conciously strive together towards being just a little more
understanding of each other, in more ways than just simply religion.

Did you notice?
They've been replaced with Chemical type weapons.
No real code changes were implimented, but everything was renamed... anything
you had that was called Acid is now called Chemical. I find the word
'Chemical' more descriptive and a better catch-all than Acid, which frequently
was used to modify attack types that were not actually corrosive or acid.
'Chemical' is an attack type that uses chemicals to damage. This inclues
poisons, acids, and in some case germs or biopoisons. It does not include
saltwater, which is still water.

It has now been three years since I joined the M3 staff, and I can't
quite believe that it's been that long. Time flies when you're having fun, as
the saying goes. :) From starting off as the Maverick Royal that approved
Dance Dance Revolutionary -- it was a valid character! -- to the Hunter
Wizard, and finally to general helpstaff and keeper of the bloopers, I hope
that I've been a good admin to approach in the past.
I'm stepping down from adminning and returning to being a player. I'll
be remaining as Ayla Ericson and possibly one other character, provided that I
can fit myself into their mindset. My job provides me with strange hours,
along with working on the weekends, which prevented me from connecting
regularly to do my duties on the MUSH.
You can still be Spica'ed though just make sure to send the blooper
over to Ayla from now on.

Yes, you read correctly. This is a new chartype.
Robot Master OCs ARE...
'Civilians' who are applied into a direct alliance with the Robot Masters.
This includes:
Members of the African army.
People who are not Yakuza members but are business partners with Wily.
People who live with and work for the organization directly and are known as
allies.
Robot Master OCs are NOT...
Androids built by Wily whose names end in 'Man.' These are only FCs.
Reploids built by Wily or stolen and turned to Wilycoded androids on a whim.
Robot Master drones.
Basically, in order to be an 'OC' in this faction, you are a step up from being
an Allied Civilian. The only difference between this method, and the current
method of putting an +ally flag on civilians, is that now you can apply into
this alliance directly, and that OC civilians allied to Masters can pick up
the 'RM' flag. You can still apply to be an RM OC reploid, which does not mean
you are a hybrid or wilycoded or converted.
RM OCs begin with the faction with access to the first floor of Skull Monument,
but may not start out with free run of the base. RM OCs may gain additional
security clearance over time. For the time being, it's likely all civilian
'allies' will be put into the same rank structure 'squad.' RM OCs will not be
added to the FC squads.
Applications for these OCs go directly to the robotmasters@megamanmush.com box,
and I handle them.

There is currently only one FC in the African armies, and he is not really a
loyal member. However, you can be. This is one type of 'RM FC' that has some
special variety and is encouraged.
The African Miltia has access to one technology that is not widespread: the
'tattoo-type' cybernetics seen on Gatts and Geetz. This is a human-enhancement
tech which has been spreading to the members of the army. These under-the-skin
cybernetics allow for very minimal body-conversion while still increasing
endurance and reaction time. They appear like, or are marked as, tattoos on
the skin. They are a fine justification for Strider-level statistics on a
cyborg character. They can aid in stealth as well. They are not a good
justification for advanced abilities like Hologram, Forcefield, Reflect, or
any anti-gravity type ability. Other, more obvious types of cybernetics still
exist in Africa, of course, and are not uncommon for those who have had to
have limbs or other body parts replaced in combat.
The African Militia members do not have Ride Armors, per se, but applications
for tankers and other such roles will be considered. The African Militia does
not have Power Armors (other than Gatts, but he got his from Interpol).
This should go without saying, but members of this army are from Africa. The
rest is up to you.

New Options for Yakuza Mon Jun 21 Gemma

Though none of these options have become open to the Yakuza yet ICly, starting
in the next few weeks, they will be, so it's a fine time to consider new types
of Yakuza applications. I'm laying down these guidelines now, because I'm
impatient and can't wait any longer.
The Yakuza is taking tech from Africa currently, and will have access to the
tattoo-type cybernetics detailed above. You are free to apply for Yakuza
cyborg characters with these statistics and ability.
Yakuza characters are either mafia (typically Italian), Japanese (naturally),
or African (those who are primarily loyal to Sera). Their tattoos will look
different depending on their race, but it is generally assumed that they have
them on their bodies as an organizational requirement. For Yakuza members, you
have plenty of leeway to decide how your 'under the skin' cybernetics look and
function, but keep in mind the guidelines above.
The Yakuza will have access to human Power Armor probably beginning some time
next month.
If these new options are making you consider changes to your current FC or
Yakuza OC, let me know and we'll discuss them.
None of the special chartypes above have any deadlines associated with
application. However, depending on the character you apply, there may be a
delay getting them on the grid, especially in the case of Yakuza, while plot
elements are finalized.

The Sigma Virus is the 'New' Maverick Virus.
I have gotten a lot of questions about this. It is now time for it to be known
a bit better what it really does, and whether you are vulnerable to it.
Reploids
Most reploids can catch the Sigma Virus. Some can't. There is no real rhyme or
reason to who is immune, and it happens for just about any reason. Your
reploid character can probably catch this virus. If you're immune, we'll tell
you so, otherwise, no, but you won't know ICly, even if you are...so don't say
your FC or OC is immune without discussing this with admin. No, being cured of
the old virus does not make you immune to the new one. What the virus does is
make you paranoid and hateful of humans. Just like the old Maverick Virus. If
you already have the old Maverick Virus, you probably won't have to change the
way you RP your character. Some of the more 'on the fence/sensitive' Mavericks
who catch the new virus will probably fall off the fence and get a bit more
hardcore, or, at least, that's the idea. If you have a problem with being
hardcore, you should've defected already, though. The virus doesn't make you
loyal to Sigma--that much has not changed, either. It simply makes you loyal
to the cause, like the 'regular' Maverick virus. Treat bioroids the same as
reploids in this instance; there is no difference as to how their nets are
affected.
Cyborgs
Some cyborgs can catch this virus, especially full-converts. If you have a lot
of computer chips in your nervous system, it may alter your mental processes
and make you act just like a 'regular Maverick.' If you don't have a lot of
chips in your system, or don't use anything like that to process, you might
not notice anything, save that you become a carrier for the virus and can
spread its contagion just like a reploid does. Cyborgs who are not converted
very much are not particularly vulnerable, though it is entirely possible,
after prolonged exposure as detailed below, that, say, one limb can become
infected, and spread the virus. Weird, I know.
Electronic Equipment
Computers can catch this virus. Power armors can catch this virus. Etc.
Infected electronics tend to rebel against their users and otherwise
misbehave. Purging it depends on how soon it is detected. You can pose your
ordinary electronic items getting infected if you think that's interesting and
logical, and you meet the rules of infection detailed in the next post. (Gate
and Light at least can probably debug this virus from computers with no
problem if they see it is there.)

Androids
You have questions about which androids and hybrids are vulnerable to this
virus, but I cannot tell you that now.
Contagion and Consent
Obviously, this Virus is no longer something you consent to ICly. You no longer
have to track down a Maverick and beg to be infected in order to be infected.
Also, any Maverick, not just Sigma, Doppler, and Cyber, can infect you. The
Sigma Virus is contagious.
That being said, no one is infected without consenting OOCly, much in the way
that condeath works. The idea that you may lose 'infection consent' is
possible if you are the sort of person who tends to hobnob too much with the
enemy, so, RF/Mav romances are, as always, very discouraged.
The virus is curable, like the Maverick Virus. But that is only if it is
detected in its early stages. Some of the Hunter and UN medics (Gate, Light,
Matthews, etc) will have the ability to administer cures for the early stages
of the infection. The 'problem' is that the infection itself mutates quickly,
so, what worked to cure an old version might not work as well on a newer
version. Your best bet is not to get infected. If the infection sets in
completely, it is set for good. I've been seeing some complaints that this
will 'kill' social RP for the Mav faction, but that shouldn't be the case.
Everyone was supposed to think the old virus was contagious anyway. The new
one really IS...that's the real difference. Casual contact isn't enough to get
a character infected, and just a conversation with a Maverick won't screw you
over. Neither will combat with a Maverick, unless that Maverick is fighting
with intent to infect. Prolonged contact will get you infected. The kind of
'contact' that spreads the virus reliably is--open wound-to-wound contact;
computer-sharing; snogging. (Snogging with Mavericks is generally bad if you
are not already a Maverick, cheeky monkeys.)
If you are a reploid in the Coalition faction, you may already be infected, or
starting to infect, just from the virus that is 'floating around' due to
combat. This shouldn't change your character very much, since you are loyal
Mavericks anyway, one would assume. If you are a cyborg in the faction, you
may not get any mental infections at all, or you may, but you are likely a
carrier and at least contagious enough to spread the virus with you when you
leave Maverick territory.
I am a good person to come to if you have questions about this. Sigma, Doppler,
and Mars are also good people.

I'm addressing, as a whole, some of the concerns I've gotten about the Sigma
Virus.
The Sigma Virus does not 'make you more evil.' It can if you want it to. It
does not have to. It can be more easily said that it infects everyone a bit
differently, because it has a constantly mutating nature.
The Sigma Virus does not give you the URGE to spread it, when you contract it.
But. It can if you want it to.
The fact that the virus is super-contagious will probably mellow out some over

is not your character. I do not understand why people are accusing me of
creating a device that does this. The mental effects are the same as the old
virus. The only difference is how it is contracted.
No, I do not really like 'sensitive new age puppydog hairflipper Mavericks.'
That is why I allowed those characters to defect before talking about the new
Virus. If you are playing one of these characters and are unhappy that the
time to defect has already passed, appeal to me.

if you haven't done anything particularly Maverick in a while.

There will be a MUSH meeting within the next week or so as soon as I get back
home and have my work schedule in order to get it scheduled. But I mention it
now because of the mass amount of hysteria and irrational hatred for an idea
that hasn't fully met fruition (that being the Sigma Virus).
Thus, I humbly request you naysayers please jump off the hate boat for now,
assemble your rational and logical ideas and arguments for and against it, and
have it ready for when I do schedule this MUSH wide meeting. Understand that I
do not intend on retconning anything, nor do I intend on letting off my intent
on making the Mavericks an actual evil faction that is to be feared instead of
mocked or taken lightly as a sideshow to the Robot Masters as they have been
for the past few years.
If you dislike my idea, bring it to me personally at the meeting. I'd prefer it
if you guys stopped backbiting and irrationally whining about how I'm turning
my MUSH into a subMUSH that was based on my own idea, which, for the record,
failed in the end. Ask yourself why I would do such a thing. Why I would model
my MUSH, after an idea, that I know won't work, that I've watched not work,
and an idea that I ALREADY DID.

News Overdone is being revised. Don't look at it now. It's blatantly wrong.
One thing that is very important which is being added is:
BANNED: -- Characters with more than 49 secondary attacks.
50 attacks is the maximum we are going to start allowing. The attack lists
here are really getting a bit out of control.
That does not mean that you should app for 50 attacks on your OC exactly
because that is the maximum. About 30 or 35 should be enough for anyone.

Here's a question about the Sigma Virus that I missed the first time. Adding
it now.
If you contract the virus, discover you are initially infected, and need to
get it cured, the full infection does not sit in right away. The grace period
is different for everyone, but assume it is a reasonable amount of time, for
PCs.
If you contract the Sigma Virus, and are cured, or, fight it off because you
discover you have system immunity, you ARE immune to the virus and cannot
catch it a second time.
Again, this is not IC knowledge.

Re-infection compromise Mon Jun 28 Gemma

If you are infected with the Sigma virus, there is a buffer of time, which is
a reasonable time, before the infection totally sets in, though you are still
experiencing some symptoms.
After it totally sets in, it can't be cured.
After being cured from pre-infection, you aren't totally immune, but it will be
slightly harder for you to catch it again. However, because the virus mutates,
it is possible, though harder, for a person once cured to contract it a second
time.
If you fight it off on your own, which means you discover you are actually
naturally immune, then, you are immune and can't contract it a second time,
but if you need the -cure-, you might get re-infected. No one can fix the
Virus /yet,/ but they are working on it.
This ruling's from Duo, so it's the final one about re-infections.
