The following things are and are not acceptable as stuns on M3.
Acceptable: Bright flashes, a la flash grenades.
Long-deployment EMPs. (Short-deployments sometimes show up as high-level
electrics).
'Wraps', such as bolas or wrapping someone with a flexible or enclosed weapon
like a whip or crazy metal hula hoop.
Netting.
Other methods of actually, physically, forcing your opponent into a situation
where they are unable to attack and you have a significant bonus to striking
them.
Not acceptable: Kicking someone in the shin/balls.
Emotional reaction.
Flashing.

It is bad form to emit random civilians over the radio. Any NPCs emitted over
the radio must have a name and a clear tie to your character. Additionally,
NPCs who antagonize PCs over the radio will have to provide face to face
scenes if requested (just like PCs) and they don't enjoy the benefit of
condeath. So don't have your second lieutenant mouth off to Agile unless you
want him to die. =)

None of these things will be impossible to get, but they will be substantially
harder and I may decide to require their removal. All of them are extremely
common in Interpol.
-Characters with deliberate "combatant" builds. This is not so much "CST 42" as
it is "designed for combat"; this is a relatively subtle distinction, but
generally the purpose of these characters is to have them be in both
Enforcement and Investigations... and I'd like to see more people in
Investigations, at least for now. This isn't a call to be "weak",
neccessarily, but you should keep in mind that CST 36-38 is still more than
enough to dominate small groups of petty thugs.
-Attacks or skills based around "police brutality". VERY COMMON. It's up there
with "Data Drain" as a v-attack.
-Electric weakness. Don't you realize that it's all part of Elec Man's plan to
rule the MUSH!?

Eugenics And Character Concepts Thu Jul 14 Mesarthim

We've had several concepts recently which invoked either heavy genetic
engineering or a long-term period of selective breeding to produce what are,
essentially, "ultimate humans".
Prior to the development of the E-Human process, genetic engineering was at
best a minor medical technology to address hereditary diseases, rather than a
way to produce super-humans. Similarly, long-term selective breeding of humans
has not been deliberately going on, and is not a justification for being a
"semi-E-human".
To explain the obvious discrepancy: Black Dragon Striders are classified as
E-humans due to a mixture of extremely high innate potential and horribly
intense training. They are "super-beings" in the same sense that Batman and
Captain America are; a great deal of human potential, rigorously invoked.
Any concepts that invoke "good breeding" or "genetic engineering" as a reason
for a high statline in the Civilians will not be approved for the foreseeable
future. This cuts both ways; you may try for a high stat-line for an
unenhanced human with a good explanation that does not invoke the Dominant
Genes. A human may be able to achieve greatness despite a less than sterling
gattaca record.

Here are the facts:
* Gaudile and Dr. Psyche studied Force Metal extensively. Dr. Psyche went
insane. Gaudile didn't.
* Cinnamon contains Force Metal. Her Force Metal Generator uses it to restore
people's systems.
* Force Metal emits unique radiation. Its radiation is damaging, mentally and
physically, and more penetrative than nuclear radiation.
* Force Metal decays over time except when properly contained. So far only Dr.
Gaudile has been able to obtain perfect containment. Dr. Light has invented an
easier way to block much of its radiation, but not stop its decay.
* The Mavericks have access to Force Metal on the moon. They don't appear to
have duplicates Dr. Light's FM radiation resistant material.
Everything else is speculation. Speculation is all well and good, but the
ability to imagine a self-consistant model does not make it true, even by
scientists. This is true not just for Force Metal, but for all M3 science and
technology. Carry on.

Ingredients (Icing): Juice and grated rind of 1/2 orange; 1 c. powdered sugar;
1 tsp. butter
Directions: Mix all ingredients. Place by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet
and bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Combine icing to spreading
consistency. Frost when cool.
Possibly the first Hunter to be baked into his own success, Mirror Orange has

People are frequently confused by the current TP temping policy, so,
clarification...
You can send me a @mail at any time if you are interested in TP temping. Many
people sent them last night. If you have not been tapped for temping recently,
but sent a @mail during my last request, you're probably already in my file,
and don't need to send again.
I keep track of the file of everyone who has volunteered to temp, and update it
as needed. We do not alert temps at the "beginning of the TP." As you may have
noticed by now, TPs never really stop and go anymore, so much, as just flow
right into each other. We alert temps when we need them. Sometimes it's right
at the beginning of their tenure. The temper's tenure ends whenever the
temp-needed plot portion of the character is done, and then the character
opens. Sometimes, in fact, usually, this is right in the middle of the TP.
When you @mail, it doesn't hurt to suggest the characters you'd be interested
in temping, even though in some cases this involves a lot of guesswork since
you can't be totally sure what we're going to add. This, however, is by no
means a guarantee that you'll get what you requested, since we can't make
promises about who is going to be added, who will be temped, and who we'll
need to do what. But we'll do the best we can if you make a specific
suggestion.

Just as a reminder, the repair times are located in news combat, point
number 9. They can't be fudged in terms of skipping days, or deciding to go
back into combat with the intent of then taking some extra time off afterwards
(Vile Palace as an exception, of course). M3 has very easygoing minimum repair
times, so this shouldn't be a problem.
Some have asked whether or not the 'days' have to be 24 hours. They
don't. The point behind repair times is basically to make sure that damage is
being sold. Combat becomes pretty pointless if everyone's up and running again
five minutes later. It becomes less of a war and more of a game of laser tag.
So if you're worrying over getting it down to the exact minute, you're missing
the purpose of repair times.

Admin are often on-duty. When on-duty, they can be approached without fear.
Admin are also sometimes off-duty. When off-duty, they should not be approached
about work, building, concept discussions, or app inquiries. All of these
things can be done via @mail; a response should be promptly forthcoming. (Some
admin, such as me, have unread mails in their +Oocfingers. These are generally
things we've forwarded to ourselves as reminders.)
Admin are sometimes hidden. When hidden, you should assume they are,
effectively, off-duty. This applies even if they're talking on channel; it is,
perhaps, a bit mean of us, but we sometimes wish to hang out with our pals
here without having to worry about "admin work".
You may @mail admin at any time, and if a hidden admin contacts you via page,
you are totally fine to page back. It is not kosher to start paging a dark
admin about business things.
